This award consists of a structured delivery and assessment programme whose aim is to introduce novice coaches to the processes and principles of coaching angling. There will be 15 hours of tutor delivered theory and practical sessions and a further 15 hours of home study.
Candidates will receive tuition and support from a registered ADB Tutor/Assessor.
Prior to registration for Level 1 Certificate, candidates should be over 16 years of age and have personal experience of coarse angling.
The qualification is composed of a series of units. To qualify for the Level 1 Certificate, candidates will have successfully completed all the units. There is also some pre-course study task, which requires
you to make notes on coarse angling.
UNIT 1: Introduction to Safe and Ethical Coaching
UNIT 2: Prepare to Deliver Angling Coaching Sessions
UNIT 3: Deliver and Review Angling Coaching Sessions
UNIT 4: Assist Angling Coaching Sessions using knowledge
gained in units 1, 2 and 3.
The course will be delivered over two days with an interval between the two days. Dates will be confirmed six weeks before the start of each course. The £165.00 cost per candidate includes Registration and certification; daily lunch and refreshments; bait and tackle; self-declaration (working with children); and mentoring via post, e-mail or telephone
